Rooftop is poured on Picasso on Richmond

To celebrate the final roof pour, Monarch Group hosted a delicious lunch-time get-together for all those who had participated in the construction of Picasso on Richmond. We braved soaring heights and a rickety ladder to meet the magnificent 40-storey high city view and have pictures to share! Exciting things are underway on Richmond Street and we are proud to be a part of that transformation.

The Langara College Science and Student Services Building’s 16 m Cantilever has begun

These photos capture the beginnings of the cantilever for the Langara College Science and Student Services Building. Though only a five-storey building, because of the 16 metre cantilever, some of these steel columns have loads equivalent to a 25-storey tower! The camber will flatten when the floor weight is added.

Durham College Building Now Open

Stephen Hawking Centre at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics – Now Open

The doors are officially open at the Stephen Hawking Centre. This project comprises of a major expansion to the renowned existing research facility in Waterloo, Ontario. The form and architectural solution of the expansion focused on the creation of a unified whole that expresses in architectural terms the cutting edge research of the Perimeter Institute scientists through transparency, continuity, and the making of new spaces for collaboration. The expansion building’s communal and transitional areas – stairs, bridges and interconnecting floor-to-floor landings – maximize the capability for the research scientists to meet and interact outside of offices or classrooms.
