The University of British Columbia Okanagan has broken ground on the new Nechako Housing Commons. Designed in partnership with Sahuri + Partners Architecture, the residence building was imagined as a simple 4-storey linear residential bar perched above the dynamic form of two levels of public space. The new housing commons will include 220 residence beds and a commons block with a 500-seat dining hall and kitchen facilities, offices, and informal gathering space for residence students.
