This school is situated at a major Toronto intersection and is sited to provide a strong urban edge and a large, protected playground. The focus of the 20-classroom facility is a large double-height library built around a restored entrance from the original school.
The design features multi-storey sky-lit atrium spaces from which there are views to all three floors of the school. These public spaces bind the school together as a community. The integrated design process included extensive consultation with the Toronto District School Board, teachers, parents and the community, all working together to evolve a design that meets the goals of the entire community.
