Equipment Designer – Public Works & Transit, Raleigh, NC

We are looking for an Equipment Designer with experience in delivering the industrial component of Public Works and Transit projects from start to finish. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and creative mind to be part of a creative design group working on projects locally and nationally. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, with an industrial background to understand operational flow and the equipment selection. The candidate should also be a strong team player and have a passion for developing creative design ideas based on our clients’ operational needs.

Role:
We are seeking an Equipment Designer for a full-time position with the following responsibilities and qualifications.

  • Support Principal Architect with coordinating and managing workload.
  • Support Principal Architect in leading design team meetings with clients focusing on process flow and equipment.
  • Lead the development and management of the contract documents and specifications as it relates to equipment and industrial flow.
  • Assist with the coordination of quality control of design and document deliverables ensuring adherence to design objectives, budgets, code requirements and other regulations.
  • Lead internal team effort at production and delivery stages for equipment selection and placement.
  • Ability to checked and cross-checked for accuracy own work, for relevance and accuracy of dimensions, notes, abbreviations, and indications.
  • Perform all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years experience.
  • Proficient with the following modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM environment), graphic software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with developing and researching appropriate details and construction sequencing.
  • Good initiative, attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Good design and graphics skills.
