As part of the OCAD University Creative City Campus expansion project, the Fabrication Centre in the university’s main building at 100 McCaul was transformed through a complete renovation and reorganization of the existing space to meet their current requirements. The project improves upon the university’s studio-based learning environments by expanding studios and improving infrastructure within existing spaces. The Fabrication Centre features studios for Wood, Metal, and Plastics; a Rapid Prototyping Centre; Fabrication Studio Management Office; expanded Studio Sales and Services; Health Room; and expanded assembly space. The new Centre is reorganized along a central corridor that improves navigation and increases visibility into the studios while also adding more student work and gathering spaces.
